Pitch to the Chief™ - Youth Edition
Empowering young people to turn ideas into community impact.
Powered by the V13 Policetech Accelerator in partnership with the Cobourg Police Service and with support from the Port Hope Police Service.
Youth Edition
Pitch to the Chief™ – Youth Edition is delivered through the V13 Policetech Accelerator, a partnership between Nventure and the Cobourg Police Service. The program challenges high school students to identify real community needs, develop innovative solutions and pitch their ideas directly to police, municipal and community leaders.
Through the experience, students build entrepreneurial, problem-solving and communication skills while exploring how their ideas can make a meaningful impact in their communities.
Youth Innovation in Action
Since its launch, Pitch to the Chief™ – Youth Edition has engaged students from local secondary schools in developing solutions to issues ranging from accessibility and personal safety to homelessness, pedestrian safety, community wellness and youth engagement.
Student projects have included apps, technology-enabled safety tools and new approaches to community services.
Impact at a Glance
Beyond the Pitch.
For some participants, the experience has led to opportunities beyond the competition. Former winner Sorora Safety went on to win a competition in the United States, raise $30,000 and begin beta testing its solution at a Canadian university.
