V13 Policetech Accelerator Returns as Canadian Institute Conference Partner
The V13 Policetech Accelerator is continuing its partnership with the Canadian Institute in 2026, supporting opportunities that bring together police services, technology innovators and public safety professionals from across Canada.
At the centre of that partnership is the Canadian Institute’s 5th Annual Police Tech Conference & Expo, taking place December 1–2, 2026 at the Mississauga Convention Centre.
The event has become an important meeting place for Canada’s police technology sector, connecting the people developing new solutions with the police services evaluating, testing and implementing them.
For the V13 Policetech Accelerator, that connection closely aligns with the work happening year-round at Venture13 in Cobourg. A strategic joint initiative of Nventure and the Cobourg Police Service, the V13 Policetech Accelerator works with Canadian entrepreneurs developing technologies with potential applications in policing and public safety. Through initiatives including Pitch to the Chief™ and the Policetech Tested™ Badge, participating companies have opportunities to connect directly with police services, validate their solutions in operational environments and build relationships across the sector.
The Accelerator has also had a longstanding presence at the Canadian Institute conference. In 2025, Nventure participated for the fourth consecutive year, with several Policetech Accelerator companies featured at the event and Nventure’s Policetech Lead, Joe Miller, joining a panel discussion on the future of policing and the role innovation can play in operational excellence.
This year’s Police Tech Conference & Expo will continue that conversation, with a two-day program focused on how emerging technologies are moving from early ideas and pilot projects into practical applications for policing. Topics will include artificial intelligence and predictive analytics, software development and automation, cybersecurity and information sharing, ALPR, drones and biometrics, digital investigations and device forensics, and technology investment and modernization.
The conference expo will also provide an opportunity to see new technologies firsthand and connect directly with police leaders, innovators, technology professionals and solution providers from across the country.
